How can I donate a toy?
The Toys for Tots program accepts new, unwrapped toys. There are over 300 public collection sites in the West Michigan lakeshore area. For a complete list please select the Drop Sites tab on this website. Please also shop or use services of the folks that have these boxes. They are passionate about providing toys to the kids this Christmas.
Can I make a cash donation?
Yes. Donations can be mailed to: Lakeshore Toys for Tots, 174 West 8th Street, Holland, MI 49423
Please make checks payable to "Lakeshore Toys for Tots". All donations made through this Toys for Tots Organization will be sent to the Toys for Tots Foundation in Quantico, Virginia for accounting purposes, and will be deposited to our account for use right here in West Michigan. These funds are typically used to purchase toys just prior to Christmas.
If you wish to make a donation by credit card you can do that through the National Toys for Tots Site by clicking here and filling in your information.
What ages are needed the most?
Traditionally we get the most toys for the 3 to 12 year olds. We really need toys for infants (0-3) and teens (13-16). We do not collect for children over the age of 16 years of age.
How do I apply to have either my children, or children of a needy friend, receive toys from Toys for Tots?
The Lakeshore Toys for Tots is a small group. We don't have the facilities or people to do our own distributions. We rely on the non-profits in the areas where we collect the toys. We make sure the agencies are able to provide services to the needy in that area. We allow them to use their application and distribution processes. The charities that receive toys from Lakeshore Toys for Tots are listed on the Sponsors and Partners tab of this website.
Because Toys for Tots is a National charity, do West Michigan toys go to other needy areas?
No. Each local Toys for Tots group is mandated to distribute all collected toys in the areas where they were received. This means your donated toy will go to a child in the area where you donated it.
